Gyaru Guides: Make & Hairstyling!
Now that I can finally use my laptop, let's talk gal make and hairstyling~!
Finding the right products for gal make can be such a battle at times. For such a long time, I felt completely lost when trying to find products that really gave me the look I was going for. Believe me, there were a few months that my "gal make" was actually horrific and not Gyaru at all.
At some point, I will post a proper makeup tutorial, but for now, I can (hopefully) give you all some recommendations and tips with this blog! The awkward phase is a bit unavoidable when learning to do gal make, but I hope my embarrassment is your knowledge gained!

As you can likely glean from the title, this blog will be focusing on two specific groups of gaijin gals: Chinese and Korean gals!
I think a lot of the time, people picture Gyaru as being popular with two main groups of people: Japanese gals and Western gaijin gals. I think that's fair, seeing as a lot of the current Gyaru content overwhelmingly showcases the two groups. However, I think it's time that we give other gaijin gals some spotlight!

"Dead" and Obscure Gyaru Substyles
Hello hello~! Welcome to my first Gyaru blog after the little break I took~! I've already thoroughly hashed out the details of the break, so I won't bore anyone with further details... I'm just excited to be back and talking about Gyaru, so let's jump in!
So, as you can probably tell from the title, the topic of today's blog is going to be the "dead" substyles of Gyaru!
My use of quotes when I refer to "dead" substyles is very intentional, and I'll tell you why: I don't think most of these styles are truly dead! There are two substyles that I do think probably deserve to be dead or remain in obscurity, but we'll get into that later on, since there is some nuance to it.

DEEP DIVE: Where Are They Now? Popular Gyaru Edition
I'm almost too ashamed to post this blog... I've been gone for so long!! And it's all my fault!!!! *sob*
I've let my blog go completely neglected for such a long time. Please forgive me!! Life has been a bit of a whirlwind these days (college, applying for jobs, settling into a new environment, the usual...), but I'm hoping to get back in the swing of things now that I have a better handle on everything! It was just so easy to put my blog out of my mind since it wasn't a necessity technically, but I'm planning to make it one for me! So do not despair, I plan to never neglect my blog, or you, my readers, ever again!! But I have to admit, the research for this one nearly killed me...

When it comes to who can and can't wear certain styles, theres bound to be people who disagree with me, and that's totally fine! Where's the fun in everyone having the same opinion? But when it comes to the styles I want to touch on in particular, I think we find ourselves in a grey area.

So far, the Gyaru blogs I've been posting have been educational, and that doesn't leave a lot of room for my own personal opinions... And as someone with a ton of opinions, I can only hold off on sharing them for so long! So, that's what this blog is going to be about!
Since this is an unpopular opinions blog, this has the potential to ruffle some feathers... But I dont mind! Gyaru is about being yourself, so who cares if I don't have the same opinions as everyone else? So long as the opinion is antithetical to Gyaru as a whole, I think it's fair game!

We're really seeing a proper Gyaru renaissance, but I'm sure plenty of y'all are confused about the ins and outs, what it means to be a gal, and stuff like that. As Spacehey's resident education major, I've decided it's basically my sworn duty to spread the gospel of Gyaru, and that's what I intend to do!
